During
Mr. Browning’s partnership with the firm, he
has practiced in the area of general civil litigation.
He is the City Attorney for Waterford, providing legal
advice on all aspects of public entity law. Corbett
provides general business law for corporate clients,
including LLC’s, partnerships and all other
types of business entities.
Mr.
Browning also represents numerous clients in cases
involving claims of wrongful termination, discrimination,
harassment, retaliation, unfair labor practices and
other labor-related issues. He has also represented
employers in discrimination, unfair practice charges
and workers compensation issues. He represents employers
before agencies such as the Public Employee Relations
Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission,
the Department of Fair Employment and Housing and
the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board.
Experience
He has substantial experience in all aspects of construction
law including drafting and interpretation of construction
contracts, bonding requirements, mechanics’
lien issues and claims. Mr. Browning represents and
advises owners, developers, contractors, and subcontractors
on a wide variety of construction-related issues.
Corbett J. Browning started his career in law as an
associate with this firm in 1989, becoming a partner
in 1994.
Education
Mr. Browning graduated from Merced High School in
1980 and graduated with honors from Merced College
in 1982. Mr. Browning then went on to graduate cum
laude from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA,
in December, 1985. He then received his Juris Doctorate,
graduating in the top 20% of his class, from the West
Virginia University School of Law in May, 1989.
Personal
Corbett and Sheri Browning have two sons, Tanner &
Baylor who are involved in numerous activities in
the Merced Area. Corbett is very supportive of his
sons’ endeavors. He enjoys golf, local baseball,
and all youth sports.
